PARENT FEEDBACK SUMMARY

Feedback Summary

We the staff and committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who took the time to fill in the feedback forms as your views on the running of the pre-school are very important to us.

It is nice to know that many of you decided to send your child to our pre-school because it was recommended to you. Most of you feel that we offer good value for money, and you like the fact that it is close to where many of you live. It’s also nice to know that you feel very welcome and like the approach that the staff has with the younger children when they first start to settle them into Pre-school life.

Communication

All of you were happy with the way we communicate important information to you. Some suggestions for how we can improve include producing more regular news letters (I’m in the process of writing the next one and it should be out shortly) , up dating the web site more regularly and putting notes in children’s bags when they are going out on trips. Some of you feel you would like a letter or report once a term to update you on your child’s development, other suggestions include diaries in the children’s book bags. Everybody who filled in the feedback form found the staff very approachable. You all understood the funding arrangements, but some of you weren’t sure where to find our policies and procedures. They are on the notice board half way down the hall if you want to have a look at any of them. About half of you felt that the church hall environment offered limitations, these included the state of the hall, only having one room wasn’t ideal, we would like to have a separate quiet area, and it would be nice to have a grass area for the children to play on.

Your Involvement

All the parents who returned their feedback forms felt they were happy with the way the committee run the pre-school. The main reason for parents not wanting to join the committee was that they have other commitments, some however expressed that they hadn’t joined because they didn’t know anyone could join and they didn’t have anyone to look after their children when they attended meetings or fund raising events etc. Children are always welcome at such meetings and anyone who would like to join can do so. We always welcome new members and any help however small makes a difference. The main reason for parents not wanting to join the parents rota were work commitments, not knowing it existed, wanting their child to have time away from them to build their confidence and having younger children at home. If you wish to join the rota either regularly or as a one off you can bring younger children with you although they will be your responsibility at all times, the rota can be found in the hall way so please feel free to put your name down and stay to see how things work.

General

Everyone felt that their children were stimulated at pre-school. All the feedback was really positive and there were many areas that parents felt we excelled in including the caring attitude of the staff, who are all really approachable for both children and parents, the wide range of activities on offer, the fact that we let parents come in for visits with their children before the start to help settle the in, along with a happy and fun environment which the children love to attend. Suggestions for improvements include; offering a collection form school when children start in September and just attend half days, more day’s out organised and having a parents evening.

Thanks again to everyone who returned their form.
